Kondgaon Dam

    The Kondgaon Dam is a huge, amazing dam near the town of Pali in Maharashtra. It's located in the beautiful Western Ghats mountain range.Also known as Valvan Dam is a water barrage that serves as the water source for the Khopoli Power Station, owned by Tata Power. This dam is built across River Kundali, originating from the Western Ghats.

    The water impounded by this dam forms a beautiful artificial reservoir, which is named as Valvan Lake after it. A lush green garden is situated next to this lake, where locals as well as tourists gather for picnics. Surrounded with a scenic landscape, Valvan Dam is a perfect place for peace lovers and solace seekers.

Sudhagad Fort

    Sudhagad lies in Pali, which is centrally located, between Mumbai and Pune. It is just a few hours’ journeys from both these cities. The hill rises to a height of about 618 metres and is well-fortified by cliffs.

    There are staircases and ladders to navigate the steep patches en route. Due to its strategic position and strength, it was proposed as the capital of Hindavi Swaraj. However, after a survey of Raigad, Shivaji Maharaja chose the latter because of its central location.

    In 1436, it was captured by the Bahamani Sultan. In 1657, the Marathas took over and renamed it "Sudhagad"(the sweet one). It was a large fort and Sudhagad was considered by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj as the capital of his kingdom. He surveyed it, but instead chose Raigad because of its central location.

Ballaleshwar Ganpati Temple

    Ballaleshwar Pali is one of the eight temples of the Hindu God Ganesha. Among Ganesha temples, Ballaleshwar is the only one dedicated to Ganesha that is known by his devotee's name. It is located in the village of Pali which is 28 km from Roha in the Raigad district of Maharashtra, India. It is situated between fort Sarasgad and the river Amba.

    Moreshvar Vitthal Sindkar constructed the temple in 1640. He was one of the major contributor of the work of Chatrapati Shivaji. The Ganesha devotee and had immense contribution to the development of the temple. The original wooden temple was renovated in 1760 to make way for a new stone temple designed by Shri Fadnis. Built in the shape of the letter Shri, it was made by mixing lead with the cement during construction. The east-facing temple was carefully positioned so that, as the sun rises, sun rays fall directly on the murti during worship.
